DAVID M. NEFF

DAVID M. NEFF is a partner at Perkins Cole LLP and is based in the firm's Chicago office. He specializes in representing debtors, lenders, individual creditors and creditors committees in all types of bankruptcies. He is a past president of the Chicago Bar Association Bankruptcies and Reorganization Committee and has spoken often at the Norton Bankruptcy Litigation Institute and for the American Bankruptcy Institute. He has a particular specialty in the hotel industry, where he has represented major parties in more than two dozen hotel bankruptcy cases throughout the country and many out-of-court restructurings. He also has a specialty in professional partnership bankruptcies as a result of having represented a 350-lawyer law firm in its successful Chapter 11 liquidation and three other law firms in their out-of-court liquidations. He also frequently represents landlords in bankruptcy cases and is a past speaker on landlord/tenant bankruptcy issues at the International Council of Shopping Centers U.S. Law Conference. Mr. Neff has authored law review articles on hotel bankruptcies, professional partnership bankruptcies and landlord/tenant bankruptcies in the Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice. In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Mr. Neff is one of the leading lawyers who represents some of the largest hotel owners, franchisees and management companies in all types of matters. He is a past Chairman of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and is a current member of the Hotel Development Council of the Urban Land Institute.
